Burnley Garden
NATURALISTIC NATIVE FRONT YARD
This Burnley garden is set to be constructed in September 2026, and we can’t wait to share the finished result.
In the meantime, we thought we’d open the curtains a little and show what happens behind the scenes. Below is a look at the deliverables these clients received throughout the design process to give you a clearer idea of what to expect when working with Joyscapes.
From concept development and visualisation through to construction documentation and long-term garden care, every deliverable is designed to help you feel informed, confident and excited at every stage of the journey.

Concept presentation
PErspective drawing, mood board, CONCEPT BREAKDOWN & MORE
Reading landscape plans is a skill and most people aren’t expected to immediately understand how a garden will feel from a 2D top view alone.
While plans are essential for construction, they rarely communicate atmosphere, scale or the relationship between different elements. That’s why every concept package includes visual tools and clear explanations to help bring the vision to life.
Our concept presentations typically include mood boards, material references, planting explanations, design rationale and at least one perspective drawing to help communicate scale and spatial experience.
Clients receive these documents a few days before an online or in-person presentation meeting. This gives time to absorb the design, prepare questions and arrive ready to make informed decisions ahead of the included revision round.
For this lovely Burnley project, the presentation meeting became an opportunity to refine a few aesthetic details and tailor the final direction to suit the clients’ preferences.
Final plans
Everything your lANDSCAPER to quote & build
These documents translates the concept into a clear and practical set of construction documents.
We aim to reduce ambiguity and minimise miscommunication between everyone involved in bringing the garden to life so plans are prepared with detailed dimensions, material selections, finishes and technical information so landscapers can quote and build with confidence.
Every project receives a different package depending on scope and client needs. For this garden, documentation included a Planting Plan, Layout & Materials Plan, Irrigation Plan and Construction Details.
Together, these documents form the roadmap that allows the design to move smoothly from paper into reality.

Handover manual
Our horticultural & design knowledge distilled into one guide for your garden to thrive
At Joyscapes, we love staying involved in gardens after installation, but whether we maintain the space or not, our goal is always to leave clients feeling confident caring for their new landscape.
Each project receives therefore a personalised handover manual, typically around 25–30 pages depending on complexity.
The first year of a garden is one of the most important. Plants are establishing, roots are adjusting and maintenance timing matters more than generic gardening advice often suggests.
That’s why every manual combines practical garden care guidance with recommendations tailored specifically to your project: your plant selections, your layout, your planting season and your site conditions.
The handover manual is delivered at the end of the design process once planting and layout decisions have been finalised, giving clients a garden guide that remains useful long after installation day.
And that’s a wrap on the Burnley deliverables for now.
The clients have also engaged Joyscapes for plant sourcing, bed preparation, planting and irrigation installation, so this project is only just getting started.
